Session Description
OBGYNs are uniquely well situated to engage patients in discussions surrounding pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for the prevention of HIV, however, integration of PrEP into OBGYN is far from the norm, in part due to knowledge gaps among providers. This session will (1) review PrEP utilization within the US, (2) discuss relevant policy considerations, (3) educate participants on how to identify candidates for PrEP by an infectious disease specialist, and (4) brainstorm how to develop clinical and research agendas to incorporate PrEP into OBGYN workflows.
