Dr Klugman’s talk will review the history of prenatal screening and testing for aneuploidy, particularly what genetic testing actually delivers as well as current and possible future directions. She will discuss the common themes to current patient questions regarding prenatal screening. Through a case-based series, attendees will review key pre -and post-test counseling issues. Attendees will leave the session with skills for counseling patients through receipt of “bad news” coming from abnormal prenatal screening test results as well as approaches for tackling unusual cases. Lastly, she will discuss new updates in carrier screening for preconception and prenatal patients.
