Doulas are trained professionals who provide physical, emotional, and informational support to clients throughout the perinatal period. We will describe the doula's role, scope of practice, and benefits of doulas in the perinatal period. We will identify barriers to access and integration within clinical settings, identify strategies to integrate doulas.
