Malini Nijagal is an obstetrician who provides care both at San Francisco General Hospital and UCSF. She spent her earlier career working in the County of Marin, where she led a system-wide redesign of maternity care services for publicly-insured women and founded and directed an outpatient OB/GYN program at a large multi-site FQHC, Marin Community Clinics. From 2014-2016, she completed a Health Management degree at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health, focusing on high-value maternity care in the context of individuals living on low incomes and facing inequitable care access, experience and outcomes. Since joining UCSF as faculty in 2017, Malini's work has focused on using community engagement and partnership to design and implement new models of care that better meet the needs of those facing inequities, with a focus on models that allow for better coordination, collaboration and integration.
