I grew up in Minnesota and graduated summa cum laude with distinction from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities with a degree in Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development. I then attended medical and graduate school as a member of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Washington University in St. Louis. There, I obtained my MD and PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology by studying breast cancer invasion and metastatic processes. I also enjoyed teaching medical students and mentoring in lab and in the community. Following this, I completed OB/Gyn residency at the University of Michigan where I continued teaching and mentoring. I am currently employed as an OB/Gyn with HealthPartners in St. Paul, MN and live nearby with my wife, son, and pets.
