Emma Swayze is a PGY2 MD resident of OBGYN at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center with an interest in maternal fetal medicine. Her hometown is Redwood City, California, and she received a Bachelor of Science from Boston College and Master of Medical Science from Boston University. She attended medical school at Western Michigan Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and participated in the South American Program in HIV Prevention Research program at UCLA. Her current interests include infectious disease in pregnancy and adverse maternal and fetal outcomes related to placental pathology. She is dedicated to working with underserved communities and improving medical education.
