Abike James, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology and Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. James obtained her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and her Master of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UPMC Presbyterian prior to joining the faculty at Penn. In 2019, Dr. James co-founded the Penn Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology health equity group to address systemic inequities across the department.
