Dr. Chloe Barrera recently received her PhD in epidemiology with concentrations in maternal and child health and social epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. During her PhD, she was a guest researcher with CDC’s Maternal Mortality Prevention Team and her dissertation focused on geographic and racial-ethnic inequities in pregnancy-related mortality. Chloe recently joined CDC’s Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention as an epidemiologist focusing on hypertension in pregnancy and cardiovascular disease mortality among women.
