Dr. Ashley Busacker is the Senior Scientist/Epidemiology and Surveillance Section Lead on the Maternal Mortality Prevention Team (MMPT). Ashley provides epidemiology leadership to the team for both PMSS and MMRIA in data analysis and dissemination, technical assistance to jurisdictions, and identification of pregnancy-associated deaths. Ashley also provides support to MMPT’s Tribal partnership activities. Prior to joining the MMPT, Ashley was the MCH Epidemiology Assignee to the state of Wyoming. In Wyoming, she was the analyst for the Wyoming Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC) and a member of the Utah/Wyoming MMRC. She was the Wyoming Department of Health Public Health Division’s liaison to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Tribes and provided epidemiology support to both tribes. Ashley received her PhD in Environmental Health with an Epidemiology concentration from Colorado State University and a BS in Health Sciences from the University of Wyoming. For the last fifteen years, Ashley has been engaged in building state, local, and tribal capacity for developing information necessary to improve infant and maternal health.
