Lee-may Chen, MD is the Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. She has a particular interest in surgical and medical management of ovarian cancer. Her research focuses on early detection in women who are at hereditary risk of developing gynecological cancer, as well as symptom management and decision making in the treatment of these cancers. Dr. Chen earned her medical degree and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Michigan. She completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at UCLA / Cedars Sinai Medical Center before joining UCSF Medical Center in 1999. She is board certified in both Gynecologic Oncology and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
