Brownsyne Tucker Edmonds is Vice President, Chief Health Equity Officer for Indiana University Health and Associate Dean for Health Equity Research for Indiana University School of Medicine, where she is a Professor of OBGYN and holds an endowed chair for Health Equity Research. She received her A.B. and M.D. from Brown University; M.P.H. from Harvard University; and M.S. in health policy research from University of Pennsylvania. She completed residency at Duke University and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program fellowship in health services research at the University of Pennsylvania. She is an R01-funded investigator in the area of shared decision making in periviable care. Broadly speaking, her research interests are in shared decision-making, health equity, and reproductive justice. She previously served on the Ethics Committee and Committee on Government Affairs for ACOG, and now serves on the Committee on Advancing Equity in Obstetric and Gynecological Health Care. She was the Legislative Affairs Chair, then Chair of the Indiana Section. She now serves as the DEI Officer for District V. She is a 2021-2024 National Academy of Medicine Emerging Leader in Health and Medicine Scholar.
